Explorative Perspectives in Music and Education

The anthology 'Explorative Perspectives in Music and Education' resulted from the MiU22 conference and seeks to support diverse dialogues. The publication, which is multimodal and interdisciplinary, explores how academic, artistic, and pedagogical research and performative work within the realm of music and education intertwine with the central theme.

The anthology aims to objectively explore the intersection of performative, qualitative and quantitative research paradigms by bringing diverse artistic and research-based perspectives into dialogue.

Notably, the anthology presents the first peer-reviewed video article in the MusPed:Research series, contributing innovative work. The book's 10 peer-reviewed research chapters on music and education focus on conceiving music and education concepts in different contexts.

Elin Angelo

Elin Angelo er professor i musikkpedagogikk ved NTNU (Institutt for musikk/ Institutt for lærerutdanning) og var fra 2021–2024 professor II ved Nord universitet (fakultet for lærerutdanning og kunst- og kulturfag). Hennes forskning dreier seg særlig om musikkundervisning og kulturskoleutvikling.

Ola Buan Øien

Ola Buan Øien (PhD) er musiker, låtskriver, produsent og jobber som postdoktor i musikkpedagogikk ved Fakultet for lærerutdanning og kunst- og kulturfag ved Nord universitet. Hans forskning fokuserer på arts-based research, musikkutdanning og musikkteknologi.

Michael Francis Duch

Michael Francis Duch er professor i kontrabass og nestleder forskning ved institutt for musikk, NTNU, hvor han forsker på jazz, improvisasjon og eksperimentell musikk. Han har medvirket på om lag 80 utgivelser i ulike format hvor flere av de er soloplater med musikk av blant andre Michael Pisaro-Liu og Lene Grenager. Duch sitter i redaksjonskomitéen for VIS - Nordic Journal for Artistic Research.

Solveig Salthammer Kolaas

Solveig Salthammer Kolaas er førstelektor med PhD i musikk ved Nord universitet Levanger, Fakultet for lærerutdanning og kunst og kulturfag. Hennes interesseområder innen forskning er musikk og utdanning; musikkteater, samkunstlig arbeid og narrativ og kunstbasert forskning- og forskningsformidling. I tillegg er hun en allsidig utøvende musiker.
