Berit Aarrestad

Berit Aarrestad is associate professor of Drama and Theatre at the University of Stavanger and a theatre director holding full membership in the Norwegian Directors' Association. She teaches in the fields of performing arts, arts education, and aesthetic learning processes. Her research focuses on performing arts for children, young people, and adults, particularly in interaction with schools and the wider cultural and social sectors. Aarrestad has led numerous large-scale arts and research projects, with a particular emphasis on how arts and culture can strengthen democracy and citizenship.
